On the 21st of June 1998 the new Latin/Jazz band Kymaera launched itself on an unsuspecting world with two new albums, a line up of some of the finest jazz musicians in the UK, and the dream of success all such ventures are founded on, at Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in Soho, London.

One album consisted of instrumental arrangements of the music of a great British songwriter, George Michael, the other of versions, in the same style, of the songs of the great Brazilian composer, Antonio Carlos Jobim. As we waited to go on Michael Neidus, from the UK record company that released the Jobim recording ‘Rio Moods’, rushed in with a fax from Ana Jobim and Corcovado Music congratulating us on the album and thanking us for supporting her husband’s music. With George Michael’s own words from the dedication of his album ‘Older’ to Jobim echoing in our ears - “he changed the way I listen to music” - we took to the stage.

Since that night we have made four more albums and a DVD. Our tracks are on compilations all over the place and frankly we’ve lost track of half of them. So the links below to Spotify and Amazon will give you most of what is out there. I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as we enjoyed making them!
